Cαlιχtο Gαrcíα Ιñιguεz was a formidable 19th-century revolutionary general, known for his iron discipline, strategic patience, and mastery of siege and attrition warfare; captured early in his career, he famously attempted suicide rather than be displayed by the enemy, later returning to command large forces with cold efficiency and coordinating complex multi-front operations until his death abroad at the end of the conflict.
